Eli Olivarez is the President of the Texas Stonewall Democratic Caucus. He is first Latino to be elected. He was the co-founder of the Stonewall Democrats of the Rio Grande Valley in 2009. Since then he has served as the State Democratic Executive Committee, District 20, where he is Vice Chair of the Resolution and Campaign Committee and a member of the Legislature Committee. As Co-chair of the LGBT outreach committee at the Texas Democratic Party, he co-sponsored with the Texas Democratic Party in 2012, the first LGBT-GOTV campaign, Come Out and Vote, to increase LGBT voter turnout. He was awarded the Texas Democratic Party 2009 Grassroots Recipient, Roberto Flores Club Achievement Award 2011 and Hidalgo County Male Democrat of the Year 2012. Eli Olivarez as served as a County, State and National Delegate for the Democratic Party. He is a strong advocate for LGBT equality and was a member and co-sponsor of the Marriage Equality and Dream Act Referendum at the Texas Democratic Party and worked on Progressive Platform Planks such as the Marriage Equality Plank, Support of ENDA, the right of LGBT parents to adopt and adding “gender identity” to the non discrimination section of the TDP party rules, All were passed at the TDP Convention of 2012. The first south state party to endorse marriage equality and this Equality Forward Summit he continues collaboration between the TSDC and the TDP. He currently resides in McAllen, Texas with his partner Bill Jay where they own Ideo Art +Design, a design firm.
Jay Narey is currently the Secretary of the Texas Stonewall Democratic Caucus and holds one of the two designated Stonewall seats on the State Democratic Executive Committee. He has been a Member of Stonewall Democrats of Dallas since 1996, and has served as the Webmaster, Secretary, and Vice President of the Dallas Chapter. He currently sits on the Board of Stonewall Democrats of Dallas as Communications Committee Chair and is the Editor of The Stonewall Advocate their monthly publication. He holds a degree in Finance from the University of Texas system as well as additional studies at Harvard University and Oxford University. Jay has been an International Flight Attendant for American Airlines for 26 years and is a licensed Realtor working in both Residential and Commercial Real Estate in Dallas for the last 8 years.
Daniel Graney has been an LGBT and political activist for many years and lives in San Antonio. He is one of the founding members and former co-chair of Stonewall Democrats of San Antonio (SDSA). From 2008 to 2012 he served as President of the Texas Stonewall Democratic Caucus (TSDC). Dan is currently co-chair of the Endorsement Committee of SDSA and was instrumental in developing an effective candidate screening and endorsement process for SDSA. He is actively involved in Democratic Party politics, having serving as a local precinct chair and as a delegate to every Texas Democratic Convention since 2000. In 2012, he was elected delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC.
